Viewers are calling KGMB9 telling us surf is really picking up on the east side. In Punaluu, they "haven't seen it like this in a long time."

In Kaaawa, waves are washing up on the road. It's been going on since about 3 this afternoon.

The Office of Emergency Management tells us they're keeping a close watch on the surf. They have a team of volunteers checking debris, sand and any potentially dangerous conditions in the Kaaawa and Kualoa Ranch areas.
