Missing Woman on Big Island Print E-mail

Big Island police are asking for the public's help in locating a 54-year-old Puna woman who was reported missing today. Sophie B. Moon of Hawaiian Paradise Park was last seen Sunday night. She is described as Caucasian, 5-feet tall, 150 pounds with blue eyes and thick, medium-length brown hair. She wears glasses and usually wears jeans and a cotton shirt. Police ask anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311.

April 21, 2000. It's about 2:30 in the morning in Waianae and police say 30-year-old career criminal Kelly Freeman is looking for a car to steal. She finds one.

"The complainant hears his Honda that is parked in his driveway, the engine starts and is being driven off," said Sgt. Kim Buffett of CrimeStoppers.

Captured: Lawton Ah Kee Print E-mail

He's been on the run for the past three years. Now KGMB9 viewers have helped police catch him. Wanted Wednesday fugitive Lawton Ah Kee was featured two weeks ago. Police say a tipster led them to Kee's whereabouts after watching the show. They arrested him Thursday afternoon at an airport hotel.

July 29,2005: It's around 10:15 in the morning. Workers at Catholic Charities on the second floor are working to help the needy, but police say they would need help themselves when 44-year-old career criminal Sheila Kahalewai enters the building.

"The girl that Sheila was with goes off to the bathroom and Sheila goes into and unoccupied office. She's found by an employee, hey what are you doing here? Oh, I'm looking for someone. Anyway, she's asked to leave."

Big Island: Missing Man Print E-mail

Big Island police are asking for the public's help in locating a 44-year-old Hilo man who has been missing since Saturday (April 26).

Ronald Kahee Jr. reportedly was driving between Honokaa and Hilo around 9 p.m. Saturday when he called home and said he was having brake trouble in the Kaawalii Gulch area. He was driving a 1993 green Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, license plate HUP 884.

Kahee is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-7, 170 pounds with black shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call CrimeStoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
