Big Island Man Wanted For Sexual Assault Print E-mail

Police are on the lookout for a Big Island man only known as "Jose." He is wanted in connection with an attempted sexual assault in Kona. Jose is described as in his late 40's to early 50's, five foot eight, 165 pounds, stocky build, brown eyes and short black hair.

The victim was driven to an area along Mamalahoa Highway where she was raped on January 18th. The suspect was last seen driving a white 1991 Toyota Privia passenger van with license plate HRA209. "Kamehameha" was reportedly on the back window.

September 16, 2006: It's about 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Koko Marina Shopping Center. Police say an argument broke out between 32-year-old Aaron Maxwell and his girlfriend. Police say Maxwell grabbed her purse and tried to take off in her vehicle.

October 30, 2007: Two women and their children are enjoying a late lunch at a restaurant at McCully Shopping Center. Police say when they were done, 36-year-old Leland Akau, who was out on parole, saw a crime of opportunity when the two mom's started loading the kids in the car.

A search is underway for a second man who may be tied to a home invasion in Mililani two weeks ago. Police are asking the public to help them find 29-year-old Keo Aiwohi.
