Before there was Aloha Stadium, there was Honolulu Stadium. From 1927 to 1976, it hosted sporting events like, Hawaii Islanders baseball and stock car races, to big name entertainers like Elvis Presley. And just in time for the holidays, a reprinting of the popular book, Honolulu Stadium: Where Hawaii Played, captures the hey day of the old, "Termite Palace."

The Honolulu Marathon generates more than $100 million in revenues to the state with more than 20,000 participants. The marathon expo kicks off Wednesday at the Hawaii Convention Center, which leads up to Sunday's big race.
