**Oahu Schools Can Earn Up to $100,000 in Free Athletic Equipment and Uniforms**

Giving a much needed boost to Oahu high school athletics, Times Super Markets and Kraft Foods in Hawaii will launch the 8th annual 'Shop and Score' program on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. For the love of the game, shoppers can help public and private schools on Oahu earn their share of $100,000 in free athletic equipment and uniforms from adidas through October 21, 2008.

Parents, students, alumni and other community members can accumulate points for the participating school of their choice by purchasing Kraft and other designated products using their Times Royal Card at Times Super Markets on Oahu. Each school will receive its share of a $100,000 credit, based on the percentage of total points, to buy adidas uniforms and equipment. All schools are guaranteed a minimum $500 credit. Shoppers can designate any participating high school on Oahu, regardless of where they live or at which Times they shop.

This year, 46 public and private schools are participating in the 'Shop and Score' program. Last year, Castle High School claimed the top spot for the fifth year in a row, earning more than $17,000 worth of free athletic apparel and equipment. Close behind were Aiea, Waipahu, Kalani and McKinley High Schools. Since its inception, the program has donated more than $500,000 worth of sports equipment and uniforms to Oahu schools.

As part of the "Kraft Shop and Score" program, American Savings Bank has contributed $25,000 to be used for academic scholarships awarded to outstanding high school students. Seventeen high school students from the participating Shop and Score schools each will be awarded $1,500. Students may begin applying for the scholarship through the Hawaii Community Foundation beginning in February 2009. New to this year's program, the public can earn 500 Shop and Score points for their favorite high school when opening a new ASB Free Checking Account at any Oahu American Savings Bank branch.

'Shop and Score' is sponsored by Times Super Markets, The Sports Line Company, adidas, Pepsi, Kimberly Clark, Dreyer's, American Savings Bank, the Honolulu Star Bulletin/Midweek and Sterling Silver.
