From president to Honolulu mayor, students at Aikahi Elementary school also voted on hard hitting issues in Hawaii, like the Superferry and rail transit. "I think its just a great opportunity to let kids get involved in politics," said Aikahi student James Woitas. "I think kids should vote cause its important with what they had to say too because I think they should vote because it gives them practice when they get older," said Aikahi student Anna Xenicelies. The votes do not count in the actual election. So far, 30,000 students statewide have voted. The kid voting results will be released election night on Nov. 4. |
