Originally scheduled to enter service this February, its new launch date is now set for the Summer of 2010. Superferry officials are citing the economic downturn for its decision. "We are disappointed that we are not going to bring the second ship out as early as we wanted to but frankly, this is just a prudent business decision in a economic climate that we are all working through today," said Superferry CEO Tom Fargo. Superferry is looking to contract out that second ship. Fargo says nothing has been set at this point but contracting to the military might be an option. |
