Here's what the future Pearl Harbor Memorial Museum will look.

On Wednesday, a groundbreaking and Hawaiian blessing were held for the new $58-million visitor center.

The current center along the shoreline was built in 1980 has been sinking in the soft soil.

To keep the new center from sinking, workers will be pounding in nearly 200 piles.

A spokesman said it'll be worth it when it's done.

"Probably the greatest thing is the new exhibits will be much more dynamic, using new technology, all kinds using today's technology, to better tell the story behind pearl harbor," said National Park Service Jon Jarvis.

The construction should take about two years.

The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial and Visitors Center will remain open during that time.
