After building 16,000 homes, Castle and Cooke's final unit has been sold to Kalei and Jamie Cross. A blessing was held Friday at the house on Ukuwai St. marking the completion of the development project. "We had a young family move in today and it sort of, I guess it set the milestone of what hundreds and hundreds before me have worked so hard on," said Castle and Cooke Hawaii president Harry Saunders. "After 40 years of building homes, building roads, streets, water lines, sewer lines, parks, schools, we came to the end." The 16,000 homes cover more than 3,500 acres. The distance from the Ewa end of Mililani Town to the east end of Mililani Mauka is five and a half miles. |
