Thirty-two affordable homes will be up for sale. Three bedroom models start just above $400,000. They will be awarded by lottery to those who meet certain income requirements. Dozens stood in line this weekend to apply for the new homes built by Castle and Cook. "The last time we had a application process they had a line and I wanted to beat that line," Brenda Tejeda said. In October, the Honolulu Board of Realtors say the median price for a single-family home was more than $600,000. Applications must be turned in by December 15. The lottery will be in January.               |
