Wanted Wednesday: Jesse Aquino Print E-mail

October 28, 2008. It's around 3 in the afternoon at Kewalo Basin and the crew of a fishing boat are preparing to go ashore.

But police say crewman, 41-year-old Jesse Aquino, has other plans and stays behind.

Next afternoon, about 2 pm, the captain returns to check on the ship and finds Aquino gone. Also he finds thousands of dollars worth of the fishing rods and the reels that they use, when they're out there, a pair of binoculars also found a .22 caliber shotgun missing from the locked cabinet within the ship.

Police say the captain was unable to reach Aquino by cell phone.

No one has seen him since and he's considered on the run.

Aquino was hired to work on the boat while already on probation for one of nine prior convictions that includes burglary and auto theft.

He's now wanted on a probation revocation warrant to send him back to jail.

"So he was on probation already so as a result of this case and because there's a firearm involved it's a theft first there's a retake warrant, so there's no bail set on this."

Aquino is described as five foot three, weighing 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He's known to frequent the east Honolulu, Kalihi, central Oahu...as well as Ewa Beach and Waianae areas.

Helping police find him could put up to a thousand bucks in your pocket.

Jesse Aquino is our fugitive on the run this Wanted Wednesday.
