A pro surfer is now in jail, after pleading guilty to a downtown Honolulu assault. In March, Koby Abberton was outside the Epic bar in Chinatown in March, when police say the 29-year-old punched an off-duty officer who was trying to break up a fight. Today, he pleaded no contest to assault in the 3rd degree in a Kaneohe court. Prosecutors asked for 10 days in jail, and 1 year of probation. A judge sentenced him to 3 days, and a 6-month deferral. If he stays out of trouble, his record will be wiped clean. |
