Gail Chew, Waimea Valley's Interim Executive Director, says about 7-10 large rocks came down on the driveway area, along with soil and dust. A security personnel and 2 gardeners were in the valley at the time, but were not in the area. No one was hurt. Chew says the largest rock was about the size of a small minivan, so they will have to be broken up before the rocks can be cleared out. As for the Makahiki, Chew says once the clean up is done, they will talk about rescheduling events. Including the concert with Na Leo Pilimehana. Willy Moss of Waialua took this picture just inside the park. |
