'Lost' Actor Daniel Dae Kim Arrested for Drunk Driving Print E-mail

"Lost" actor Daniel Dae Kim hid his face from cameras after he bailed out of jail.

The Honolulu Advertiser captured video of Kim as he was picked by a friend, after spending about two hours in police custody.

Police said he was busted for drunk driving.

"At 2:30 this morning an on-duty officer observed a vehicle being driven erratically near South King Street and Isenberg Street," said Capt. Frank Fujii, the spokesperson for the Honolulu Police Department.

The actor who plays Jin-Soo Kwon on the hit series "Lost" was pulled over and then arrested just before he could get onto the H-1 Freeway.

"He was transported to the main police station were he was booked and bail was set for $500 dollars," said Capt. Fujii. "He bailed out at about five o'clock this morning."

Kim is now the fourth cast member from "Lost" to be arrested in Hawaii, and the sixth one to make headlines for problems.

In 2006, Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were both convicted of drunk driving. That same year Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje who played Mr. Eko was arrested in Waikiki for driving without a license and being uncooperative with police.

Actor Josh Holloway was also in the media spotlight when he and his wife were robbed at gun point in their Hawaii Kai home. And finally last December, "Lost" Actress Evangeline Lily lost her home to a fire.

Some said the cast is cursed. Whatever the reason, with this arrest, Kim at least made a good impression on Honolulu police.

"The suspect was very cooperative and respectful to everyone he came into contact with," said Capt. Fujii.

However, the actor never made it to the Hawaii International Film Festival where he was scheduled to present an award Thursday for best documentary.

Kim will make his first appearance in district court on Friday, Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m.
