Pick a Live Christmas Tree at Helemano Farms Print E-mail

Thanksgiving will soon be over and Christmas is just around the corner.

So how about doing something different this year and cutting your own Christmas tree?

Well, you don't do the actual cutting, but you can pick out your own live tree at the Helemano Farms in Whitmore Village.

There are thousands of trees to choose from. Just tell the staff which tree you like and they take care of the rest.

"We got Norfolk Island Pines, anywhere from five to 20 feet. We'll cut em down for you, load em up for you," said owner Aaron O'Brien. "Most people that come to our farm will come back. It's just getting 'em out here."

The trees go on sale Friday. Prices range from $40 to $80, depending on the height of the tree.

Helemano Farms is open from 2 p.m. until Sundown Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. until Sundown on the weekends.
