Wie off to Strong Start at Q-School Finals Print E-mail

A trip to Daytona beach for the typical 19 year old female might be enjoying the surf and sand.

But Michelle Wie is no ordinary teenager. Instead of working on her tan, she's working on getting her LPGA Tour card.

It's now the final stage of LPGA's qualifying school and Wie's opened up with a 3-under par 69, which is good enough for 6th place.

The Punahou grad carded just one bogey on the day and rolled in a 25-foot putt on the final hole for birdie.

The top 20 finishers after five rounds earn full status on tour next season.
