Park officials say the mile-wide flow is a quarter-mile away. Scientists walked along its perimeter Monday to gauge its location. No lava has reached park land since last year. Discussions are underway on how to handle public access to the flow. Right now, hikers can get up close if they make a six-mile trek over unmarked terrain. |
