It's the only sport the Buffanblu have never won a state title in. Punahou has a lot going for it this season, especially on offense. Cayman Shutter known to throw for 300 or 400 yards a game and has just five picks on the year. Shutter has a number of all-stars he can count on. Receivers Robby Toma and Kimo Makaula plus running backs Dalton Hilliard and Mantai Teo. As Punahou reached its 12-1 record, there's been a lot of attention surrounding Teo, defensively as the nation's top linebacker recruit. He's considering teams like USC and being visited by coaches like Charlie Weis of Notre Dame. But Teo says what makes this season a success is how things have come together for the seniors who also played in the state final as freshmen. But as they say, defense wins championships and it was interception returned for a 74 yard touchdown in the final seconds that was the game-winner over Farrington in the state semifinals.
