Gators Prevail, Claim Top Spot in College Football

Two college football programs steeped in tradition, met tonight in the Bowl Championship Serious championship game. Oklahoma is seeking its eighth national title, Florida its third.

The Sooners came in ranked number one, The Gators ranked number two. Last year's Heisman winner, Tim Tebow, gets the scoring started early in the second quarter. A 20-yard strike to Louis Murphy who just gets over the goal line. 7-0 florida on top.

This year's Heisman winner, Sam Bradford, answers for Oklahoma. A pass in traffic to Jermain Gresham. Now we're tied 7-7.

The Sooners had a chance to take the lead just before halftime, but the ball is batted and intercepted by the Gators.

The contest was close, until Tebow finds David Nelson with about three minutes left.

Florida wins 24-14.

Tebow is named the game's outstanding player.
