Mighty Mo Children's Book Print E-mail

Veterans Day is Sunday, November 11, and to help children better understand the day that honors those who serve our country is a new children's book. My Grandpa's Battleship Missouri Tour highlights the ship's historical significance and the veterans who served aboard her. Ramsay wharton was live aboard the Mighty Mo this morning to talk with the book's author and illustrator, Jeff Langcaon, and his Korean War veteran father, Tobias Langcaon, who inspired the story.

My Grandpa's Battleship Missouri Tour centers around a girl named Samantha, Jeff's daughter, whose class goes on a field trip to the Battleship Missouri Memorial. There, Samantha gets the surprise of her life when she learns that her grandpa was a sailor aboard the Mighty Mo and is now a tour guide on the Hawaii located ship.
