It was the first ever Steve Favela family fun run in Ewa Beach. After the two kilometer course, there was a safety fair that let children get up close with HPD, the fire department and the Coast Guard. Favela's fellow officers said they can't believe it's been a year since he was killed in the president's motorcade. "It's different. We remember him everywhere we go, we worked nights when he came over, and it's fun memories we had with him. It was good times with him," said Officer Nathan O'Sullivan, friend. About $8,000 was raised from Saturday's event. The money will go to Holomua Elementary School and The Cole Academy, where Favela's children go to school. |
