If you're not among the 50-thousand that'll be at the UH game Saturday night then you might want to head down to Honolulu Hale and take advantage of the Mayor's 23rd Annual Honolulu City Lights celebration. Enjoy the coloful Public Employees Electric Light Parade and watch Honolulu's giant Christmas tree come aglow. Entertainment, food, and festive decorations will catch your eyes as well as a new train display that's sure to wow kids and grown ups alike. Ramsay Wharton went behind the scenes at Honolulu Hale for a sneak peek of the festive decorations.

The month long celebration runs through New Years Day. This year's theme, Kuu Home - Our Home, honors Hawaii's unique island home filled with rich traditions and culture.

Honolulu Hale features decorated trees, visit with Santa in the courtyard, food booths. Keiki carnival rides on the Civic Center grounds. The newest holiday display, the Lanakila train has been set up on the grounds as well. The plantation style train loaded with gifts honors the royal train rides Queen Liliuokalani enjoyed on the royal train, Lanakila Ke Ka Ahi Alii.

This year's commemorative ornament, featuring the train, is available at Macy's and Borders Bookstores and at the craft booths set up by the Friends of Honolulu City Lights at the Neal Blaisdell Center during the weekend of November 23 -25.

Souvenir City Light t-shirts featuring the 12 days of Christmas, Hawaiian Style, can be purchased at the Honolulu City Store in Ala Moana Center.
