Honolulu police said hours after Moses Palakiko's pictures were broadcast on KGMB9, he turned himself into the Pearl City sub-station last Wednesday night after being on the run for almost four years. Palakiko jumped bail following his arrest on assault and robbery charges in Waikiki in 2004. Palakiko's girlfriend said she talked with him about surrendering to police following his Wanted Wednesday profile. She said Palakiko didn't know he was a wanted man. "They see themselves and sometimes they're not aware that they're wanted or that there's a warrant out for their arrest. So we're getting the message out and these people are turning themselves in and clearing their names," said Sgt. Kim Buffett, Crimestoppers. Palakiko is the second of six profiled fugitives featured on Wanted Wednesday. |
