I am KGMB9's Weekend Anchor and a weekday reporter. I have been at the station 17 years. (Has it really been that long?)

Right now, I am working a part-time schedule, which allows me to spend the rest of the time raising my 3-year old son Cole. And I am very grateful KGMB9 has allowed me to do that.

I first became interested in news as a student at Kaiser High School. I discovered, unlike my friends, that I enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching the evening news. I also enjoyed writing. English was my favorite subject. That said, I went off to college at the University of Hawaii thinking I wanted to be a veteranarian, until a journalist came to speak to speak to one of my classes. I switched majors and never looked back.

I LOVE my job. I have won various awards throughout my career, including an Emmy and several Society of Professional Journalist honors. But what really keeps me passionate about the business, is breaking news stories. Uncovering government waste, scandals, ect. I believe it is our job to hold people and government accountable, especially when taxpayer money is involved. I also enjoy the fact that it is never boring. Stressful, yes, dull, never.

In my spare time, I enjoy sailing, golfing and spending quality time with my family, which includes my husband Bill and my 17 year-old stepson, Justin. My schedule allows me the time to balance the two worlds.

I don't have any extraordinary talents. But what most people may not know about me is that I don't have a sense of smell. There's a name for it. Anosmia. The doctors are baffled by my condition because unlike most people who can't smell, I can taste. I've never seen it as a handicap. It is merely a quirky part of who I am.

Stacy Loe anchors the weekend edition of KGMB9 News at 5 and 10. She is also a special assignment reporter to the weekday edition of KGMB9 News at 5, 6, and 10. She has been with KGMB9 since 1990.
