Congress still has to debate and vote on it, but Congressional leaders say they have an agreement with the White House to do tax rebates of 300 dollars for virtually all wage earners, more for families. The Dow stopped falling this morning and is now up about 70 points as investors digest the rebate news. We'll have more in a report from the capital in mere minutes. Jupiter Holdings, an investor in Kapolei Business Park, has sold the Royal Garden Hotel on Olohana Street on the Ala Wai side of Waikiki. The buyer is Wyndham Vacation Ownership, which plans renovations and a timeshare conversion later this year. Finally, the Financial Times of London says the second biggest bank in France has caught one of its futures traders executing bogus transaction and pocketing the proceeds -- equal to 7 billion dollars! |
