National Primaries & Caucuses

KGMB9's political team looked ahead to the 2008 Presidential Election, with in-depth discussion and analysis about the current candidates, the latest from the campaign trail, and what Hawaii's vote means to the Race for the White House. Kim Gennaula and Keahi Tucker hosted this half-hour Campaign 2008 special, with analysis from Dan Boylan and key members of both political parties.

KGMB9 starts our Campaign 2008 coverage with a recap of President Bush's State of the Union Address. We have KGMB9 political analyst, State Representative Lynn Finnegan and Senate President Colleen Hanabusa.

6,400 delegates will be narrowing down the field. One Republican and one Democrat will walk away with the majority and their parties' nominations. The next big test for the presidential candidates is just about a week away. We now look more at what ‘Super Tuesday’ is going to bring and the Democratic candidates with Dan Boylan, Brian Schatz and Colleen Hanabusa.

The Republicans' race is closer. Five candidates have won delegates so far and a former governor without any congressional experience is the front runner right now. The top three so far are Mitt Romney, Sen. John McCain and Mike Huckabee. We are joined by Hawaii Republican Party Chair Willes Lee and Representative Lynn Finnegan.
