Kung hee fat choy! A celebration welcoming the Chinese New Year in Chinatown Saturday.

Thousands celebrated the year of the Rat with a festival and parade.

The parade Saturday took over Mauna Kea Street.

The street was lined with craft and food booths including live martial arts demonstrations, Chinese lion dancing and a special performance by a 150-foot dragon.

The year of the Rat officially begins on Feb. 7.
