Rep. Kymberly Pine presented a check to Ewa Beach Elementary School for more than $66 million. The new school, called Ewa Makai Middle School, will help alleviate overcrowding at Ilima Intermediate School, the only middle school in the Ewa community. The new school will be built just miles away from Ewa Beach Elementary. "And so we are very very excited, that we got the money all at one time. I think really the students at Ewa Beach are most excited about is that the legislature put them number one, and said you deserve the best facilities in the state of Hawaii," said Rep. Kymberly Pine, (R) - Ewa Beach. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and be completed in July 2010. |
