A senate committee gave it's approval for Gov. Lingle's plan to purchase Turtle Bay Resort. With an 11 to 0 vote, a senate committee passed the measure Monday, along with some amendments. It would allow the state to buy the land around Turtle Bay Resort, and stop the expansion plans that were approved more than 20 years ago. It's estimated that the land is worth anywhere from $30 million to nearly $200 million. The bill now moves to the full senate floor, where a vote is expected next Tuesday. |
