On the Big Island, the county is still working with state and federal agencies to create a safe viewing area for those who want watch Madame Pele's magic. The area is still off-limits to the public. Lava began pouring into the sea early Thursday morning. County officials say there is going to be a blessing at the site at 2'clock Saturday, then it will be open daily from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at night. There's going to be a parking lot area for cars, and expect to walk about a half mile to the viewing site. Evaluations will be done each day to make sure visitors will be safe |
