The full orchestra will perform the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" which you may remember from "Fantasia," the Disney movie. Ravel's Piano Concerto, which is a Frenchman's salute to the light jazzy music of George Gershwin is also on the program, and last but not least is the "Symphony Fantastique." "We want to show this community that we're here, that we're here to stay. that we are a high quality, large size symphony orchestra, and we want to play a lot of the music that shows our listeners what the power of music is all about. You will hear lots of people that will lift you right off the seat, because it's music that in the collective mind of audiences around the world, exemplifies symphonic music," said principal conductor Andreas Delfs. Saturday's concert began at 8 p.m. at the concert hall. It will be repeated Sunady afternoon at 4 p.m. Ticket prices range from $21 to $74. |
