Wanted Wednesday Capture: Jacob Del Mundo-Faagai

We aired it Wednesday on Wanted Wednesday, and police had him in custody on Thursday. Police arrested local fighter, Jacob Del Mundo-Faagai, around 10 o'clock Thursday night in Waianae. A tip alerted authorities to a vehicle he was driving. Police stopped him on Farrington Highway and arrested him. Faagai, posted bail on a that night. He was wanted on a $50,000 Grand Jury Warrant and as is awaiting trial, April 28, following a grand jury indictment for Assault 2.

Del Mundo-Faagai, seen in a YouTube video in black shorts, was arrested for assaulting a man last September but never showed up for subsequent court dates.

"Faaai knew that he had a court date. He basically didn't want to spend it in jail," said Sgt. Kim Buffett of CrimeStoppers. "He was training for his ultimate fighting, so he didn't want to spend it in jail pending his court date, but he was aware of it. So he will be appearing in court."

Faagai is the ninth Wanted Wednesday fugitive arrested.
