January 19, 2008, a woman talks with male friend inside a car outside her Kaneohe home. Honolulu police say that when the woman's ex-boyfriend and father of her child, 32 year-old Othai Sayapeth shows up. "He drove up ..and got out and started an argument with her." Police say he then turned his attention to the man. "He was punched in the head causing a laceration and also causing him to loose consciousness and when he woke up. Othai had left the scene in his vehicle." The victim I-D Sayapheth in a photo lineup and police arrested him the next day for assault and unauthorized entry into a vehicle. But Sayapheth would never show up for court and it's not the first time. Police say Sayapeth never showed up for court to respond to other two other arrests that happened in 1999...then again in 2005. Both arrests involved unauthorized entry into a vehicle. And Sayapheth’s warrants are now adding up. He's now wanted on more than 80-thousand dollars in warrants. Sayapheth is described as five feet tall and about 130 pounds. Police say he's a violent man with more than 30 arrests and a dozen convictions. "All his convictions that he does have, he has terroristic threatening and abuse cases and he does have a history of violence." Sayapheth is known to frequent the Palolo, Waialae and Kalihi areas. Helping police find him could put up to a thousand bucks in your pocket. Othai Sayapheth is our fugitive on the run this Wanted Wednesday. |
