Nappy Napoleon Paddles with Sunrise Print E-mail
Written by Ramsay Wharton - rwharton@kgmb9.com

Age isn't keeping him down. Veteran paddler Joseph "Nappy" Napolean is out to set an outrigger canoe paddling record. He will be paddling in his 50th consecutive Molokai Hoe on Sunday.

Nappy joins our Ramsay Wharton live this morning from Waikiki to talk more about this historic event.

Part I: Uncle Nappy talks about the significance of the Molokai Hoe and his reason for paddling.

Part II: Ramsay gets some paddling tips from the expert himself. Uncle Nappy reveals what it takes for him to pull off a 41-mile race across the Kaiwi channel.

The Anuenue Canoe Club is throwing a benefit to honor Uncle Nappy and help the club purchase a koa canoe.
