Got money? A gallon of milk may soon cost you more at the grocery store. The state's only two dairies are seeking a 20 percent hike because of the rising costs of cow feed and fuel. So the minimum paid to milk producers could increase by 52 cents a gallon bringing the price to $3.05. The Board of Agriculture will consider the request from Clover Leaf Dairy and Island Dairy on Tuesday. If it's approved, the increase will be the third in the last 4 years. |
