800+ Jellyfish Show-Up on Oahu

The box jellyfish influx this month is shaping up to be a big one. There were more than 800 stingers found by 9 a.m. Tuesday and 39 people were stung in Waikiki alone.

Along with those 800 jellys picked up early in Waikiki, lifeguards also report more than 100 jellyfish found on the beach at Makaha and more than 25 at Pokai Bay on Oahu's leeward coast.

And the high numbers may be connected to todays high south shore surf.
