They'll be taking their acrobatic feats and colorful show to Broadway next month, but before they do, they'll be wowing audiences in Hawaii this week. Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy opens at the Blaisdell Center tomorrow.

Ramsay Wharton met up with some of the international performers for a sneak peak at life in the jungle.

The critically acclaimed CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY, a theatrical, acrobatic and musical adventure that has toured the country comes to the Blaisdell Concert Hall May 6-11. Hawaii is the final stop on its tour prior to making its Broadway debut Monday, June 16 at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) for a limited engagement of ten weeks.

Created and directed by Neil Goldberg, CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY is an exotic encounter inspired by nature's unpredictable creations that are brought to life by an international cast of 25 soaring aerialists, spine-bending contortionists, acrobats, jugglers and musicians.

The astounding feats are enhanced with more than 150 spectacular costumes set in a fantastical jungle with striking visual effects. Among the highlights, an aerial ballet of butterflies, balancing giraffes, gigantic flowers and trees.
Tickets for the eight shows in Honolulu are on sale now at the Blaisdell Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations, including Times.

In addition, there is a special "Kids Night" event on Wednesday starting at 6:00 PM. The lawn at the Blaisdell Concert Hall will be the site for children of all ages to experience Cirque Dreams up-close and personal with a hands-on and educational encounter with the artists from the show before the performance. Kids will test their agility by balancing on a swaying teeter board as performed and supervised by the show's expert balancers, be transformed into Jungle Fantasy characters by trying on the animal costume head pieces from the show, learn to hula hoop and juggle, receive temporary tattoos from the strongmen, stretch with the limber contortionists, and clown with the jungle boys.

CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY is presented in Honolulu by New Space Entertainment, with sponsorship by Charles Schwab.

CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY is the latest brainchild of Neil Goldberg's Cirque Productions, creators of international performance and touring sensations Cirque Ingenieux, Cirque Dreams Coobrila and Cirque Dreams Illumination.

"CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY remains true to my original CIRQUE DREAMS vision which began with the company in 1993 - to blend European artistry with circus and Broadway theatrics in a dramatic fashion that transcends imagination and leaves its narration to the eyes of the beholder," says Goldberg.

USA Today hails CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY "Dazzling…A fantastical tale in an enchanted jungle," Newsday proclaims it "Spellbinding …will have you believing anything," The Los Angeles Times calls it "a whiz bang family friendly spectacle" and the Chicago Sun Times declares it "executed to perfection." Critics and audiences alike have praised Cirque Dreams shows as "A circus to blow your circuits" (San Diego Union Tribune), "Acrobatic audacity and limitless imagination" (New York Daily News), and "A mind-tingling spectacle" (Dallas Morning News.)
