
| Lei Donations Wanted for Memorial Day |

Fifty thousand fresh lei are needed for placement on the graves of veterans at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl and at all state veterans' cemeteries for Memorial Day. The 59th annual Mayor's Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m. May 26 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. As they traditionally have, Boy Scouts will place a lei at each grave to honor the memory of the fallen veterans and service members. Lei may be dropped off at the following O'ahu locations on May 23: Community parks (between 9 a.m. and noon):
Community parks (between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.):
Fire stations (between 6 and 11 a.m.): Any fire station on O'ahu. Department of Parks & Recreation Parks Permit Section (between 8 a.m. and noon) Fasi Municipal Building, 650 S. King St. For more information, call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 973-7264. |
