You Make The Call
Michelle Wie at Michelob Ultra Print E-mail

Michelle Wie is proving her best days are not behind her. After starting off the Michelob Ultra open in 126th place Wie came back Friday for round two, but would her late charge be enough to make the cut?

Wie started her round on the back nine and while she struggled for accuracy with her tee shot on day one, Friday was a different story. On 13 she finds the green and sticks it to within 8 ft of the cup. The Punahou grad would tap that in for par.

Michelle was able to card 3 birdies on the back nine, like this one on the par-four 16. That would take her to 3 over for the tourney but by far her best performance came on 18. This is coming out of the rough, it's going to find the green and saddle up pretty nicely to within six feet of the hole. She would tap that in for bird.

After her first nine holes Wie was at one under par for the day. Unfortunately she couldn't stay under par on the front nine, so she'd card an even par 71 for the day.

At four over, Wie ends up four short of the cutline. Annika Sorentstam currently leads the field at 12-under.
