They watch the show religiously, which was why they jumped at the chance to get tickets for a VIP party Thursday night at Ala Moana Hotel's Rumours night club. "We paid $100 each," said Christy, holding up her two tickets stubs. She, like so many other fans, was dying to meet Willie, the show's host. When she bought her tickets, she said was told he'd be there to say "Hi" and take pictures with fans. But Willie was a no-show and the fans feel cheated. "The reason we bought this one," Christy said about her ticket "was to see Willie. When we get there we waiting and waiting and there's no Willie and there's no one but the three dancers." "By 10:15 p.m., it looked like everyone was filing out and knew he wasn't coming," said Christy's husband Quinton. Bigatin Productions, which planned the party, said it didn't promise any stars would be there. The company spokesman said 12 of the 17 cast members did show up but Dave Tiu said he's still disappointed. He's apologizing to anyone who bought tickets and is offering full refunds. He said the company wants to make Hawaii fans happy. And while Christy's heart-broken, she said she'll still watch Willie and the big show planned for Aloha Stadium Saturday, because of the good it brings to the Philippines. "I admire the show a lot," she smile, "and I like the game show and Willie helps the poor people a lot in the Philippines." For full refunds, fans can bring their proof of purchase to the Kambigan restaurant in Waipahu beginning 9 a.m. Saturday. Related Stories: Grace and Jeff Test Their Music Knowledge with 'Wowowee' |
