It happened just after 9 p.m. on Aliikoa Street on Waialae Nui Ridge. Officials said the blaze started on a bed in the front room but they don't know yet what sparked it. The one-story house was engulfed when fire crews arrived. Firefighters said the residents left the home shortly before the flames were spotted. "No one was home at the time, so no injuries to report except that we did have their pet dog that did receive some burns," said Captain Earle Kealoha. Neighbors said the family of three moved in just a few months ago. Damages are estimated at $500,000. |
