Crews are still combing through debris looking for bodies, while many residents are sifting through their devastated communities. The National Weather Service estimated at least 8 twisters touched down and tore through parts of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Georgia this weekend. "Hearing the screams of my children, hearing the screams of my mother, being slid across the ground…I don't feel anything but blessed because I don't see any reason why we should still be alive," said Tressie Gilmore. Most communities got some sort of warning, and with the peak of the tornado season just starting, government officials are preparing for more storms. |
