The $17-million East West Road will connect future neighborhoods in what is called the second city. The new road will eventually intersect with the future North South Road and should help traffic flow a lot better by connecting Fort Weaver Road to the future UH West Oahu campus. "We're happy, you know we're happy. It's a great day for the leeward coast, I mean it shows we can cross partisan lines, when we focus on providing the right thing for people," said Micah Kane, Dept. of Hawaiian Home Lands. The road is also expected to provide access to two new schools and more than 2,400 affordable homes. The road is expected to open in a year and half. |
