Sen. Daniel Akaka gave his endorsement to Obama Monday. When asked why he waited so long to choose a candidate, he said he was hoping the votes of the American people would be the deciding factor but now it looks like it's up to the superdelegates. Akaka said he believes Obama is what our country needs at this time. "President Obama will achieve what I've been working to accomplish here and in my entire congressional career, that is more tolerance and understanding and appreciation of common goals and interests, rather than an emphasism on our differences," said Sen. Akaka. Hawaii Democratic National Committeewoman Dolly Strazer also endorsed Sen. Obama Monday. Only three of Hawaii's superdelegates remain undecided that's because they haven't been chosen. They'll be picked at the State Democratic Convention on May 24. |
