Top Seeds Out at Billabong Pro Tahiti Print E-mail

The headline out of the Billabong Pro Tahiti is that Teahupoo is not favoring the top seeds. Reigning champ Mick Fanning out after day one, and on day two the elimination of eight time world champ Kelly Slater. Tahiti's own Manoa Dollet had Slater's number not once but twice in this contest.

The wildcard beat Slater in round one. The two faced off again in round three, this time Drollett sends Slater home.

If you thought that was barrel-licous. Check out Kahuku grad Jamie O'brien, unfortunately he lost in round two.

Pancho Sullivan went one round further. The North Shore boy lost to Tim Reyes. Rounding out the local boys, three time world champion

Andy Irons has earned more tube time with ease.

Next up Irons takes on 13th ranked Luke Stedman of Australia to make the quarterfinals.
