Dozens of delegates united together Saturday for the Hawaii Republican Party State Convention in Waikiki. Hawaii is sending 20 voting delegates and 17 alternates to the national convention in Minneapolis in early September. Hawaii delegate elections were held Saturday and ballots are being counted right now. Delegates say they are energized about the national convention and the upcoming president election.

"The majority of the delegates that we have here today, atleast what was shown in the early morning voting are supporting John McCain. And we expect our delegation, will be if not all, overwhelmingly in support of John McCain," said Willes Lee.

"I think John McCain has what it takes, he has the experience first and foremost. But for me when it comes down to it. It comes down to principal leadership, and that's what I see in John McCain," said Duke Aiona.

Brennon Morioka and Miriam Helrecht was voted as the National Committee man and woman.
