UH Manoa's 100th Graduating Class Print E-mail
May 18, 2008 06:16 PM

Look out world here they come! Thousands of students across the state can now call themselves college graduates. At UH Manoa more than 1,800 students decked out in green and white gowns were handed their diplomas Sunday. Family and friends cheered for their loved ones. The graduation ceremony was held at the Stan Sheriff Center. The graduates say it's a moment that they will always remember.

"Oh no they could have wheeled me across and it would have been okay, I had knee surgery Friday, but I never thought twice about walking, I knew I was going to walk," said Julie Peters.

"I feel awesome. I worked hard. And I learned a lot of things. I'm eagered to get out, get a job and like I said I want to join you guys so I'll be knocking on your door," said Keola Diaz.

It was an extra special ceremony for the University. This group of graduates is the university's 100th graduating class.
