Body Exhibit Coming to Hawaii Print E-mail
May 22, 2008 07:16 PM

Ever wonder what your body looks like from the inside out?

You can find out thanks to a touring exhibit coming to Hawaii called "Bodies the Exhibition."

These are real bodies that have been dissected and specially preserved.

Donated cadavers are treated with liquid silicone rubber creating a rubberized body, showcasing: bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels and organs. Some speciman's are in vivid athletic poses while others illustrate damage from over eating even a black lung damaged by smoking.

"It will help people understand how their bodies work. How amazingly complex it is, How their very systems are organized together. How disease impacts it and howone can make choices to better care or it," said Dr. Roy Glover.

"Bodies the Exhibit," opens June 14th at Ala Moana center in a space near the new Nordstrom. Tickets go on sale Friday.

Click here for more information on how you can get tickets.
