Fifteen-year-old Jennifer Sharpe has a fat paycheck for the Girl Scouts after selling lots of thin mints. The Michigan teen recently sold over 17,000 boxes of girl scout cookies to help pay for her troop's 10-day trip to Europe. A Girl Scout spokeswoman says the organization doesn't keep track of records but believes this is one. Sounds impressive, until you find out Steve bought at least half of them. How can you tell when a cartoon character is insanely popular? Easy. When he's made into a rectal thermometer. That's one of the newest pieces of Spongebob Squarepants merchandise. Designers think it will make the temperature taking process a little less unpleasant. I don't care how you sugarcoat it, there's no way you can make that fun. Ironically Spongebob lives in bikini bottom on the cartoon. A Washington state woman faces prison time for faking sick to avoid work. Forty-year-old Sandra Dee Martinez got $21,000 in paid leave, extra sick days and lots of time off work after faking brain cancer. Prosecutors say she forged doctors letters to pull off the scam. On an unrelated note I think I'm coming down with shingles and won't be able to make it to work on Monday. A man who attacked a Jedi church posing as Darth Vader, using a garbage bag for a cape was given a suspended sentence last week. Unfortunately for Arwel Hughes, the church had the cameras rolling during the assault. Hughs has no memory of attacking the founder because he'd drank almost ten liters of wine before the incident. |
