Nearly 300,000 Hawaii kids live below the poverty line and can't afford basic school supplies. That's where Helping Hands Hawaii and Scion Evolution come in. They're the driving force behind this Sunday's School Supply Drive at the Aloha Tower Marketplace. Joining us this morning is Kory Kuhns from Scion Evolution and Scott Morishige from Helping Hands Hawaii. Scion Evolution Hawai'i Chapter Car Show All attendees are asked to bring a donation of school supplies to help needy children get ready to go back to school. The public can enjoy a variety of activities, including a car show; prize giveaways, including trips on the Hawai'i Superferry; and a jackpot machine for a chance to win a Scion xD. Suggested donations include, but are not limited to: 24-count crayons, composition books, plastic erasers, glue (4 oz.), scissors (4.5 inch), portfolios, new or used backpacks, calculators, folder paper (college or wide rule), No. 2 pencils, ball point pens (med. pt., black or blue), spiral notebooks (one subject), and rulers. |
